STILLWATER CREEK FARMS

Rodney, Meredyth, Emma and Katie Cook raise cattle and pigs in north central Oklahoma and are proud to participate in the long history of farming and ranching in the region. Our family is committed to our community - Rodney is a volunteer firefighter and the whole family works to prepare and serve meals as part of a community nutrition program. You are welcome to reach out to us anytime, we love to talk about livestock and are happy to share with you how our animals are raised and cared for.

Exceptionally flavorful, tender, family-raised beef and pork.

How Do We Do It?

Genetics

Our genetics create marbling that is the perfect foundation for flavor and tenderness. We specifically select our genetics with a focus on quality. Our cattle are Akaushi/Wagyu-Red Angus and our pigs are Idaho Pasture Pigs, both breed combinations that we believe in due to their intramuscular, healthy fat, their rich meat flavor, and incredible tenderness.

Care

Maintaining a low-stress environment for our animals not only optimizes their wellbeing, it also produces a more tender product. We handle our cattle with gentleness and respect. Rodney is a longtime rancher and Meredyth is a livestock veterinarian. We hand feed our cattle and pigs daily, walking with them and interacting with them as the parts of our family that they are.

Nutrition

We work with a nutritionist who has developed a custom ration for our animals that maximizes their genetic potential to achieve a high percentage of healthy, intramuscular fat (marbling) that fills our products with flavor for an extraordinary eating experience. We think it’s important what goes into our animals’ bodies.

“Over the years, we have thoroughly enjoyed the quality of product and personal service we have received from Stillwater Creek Farms.   The grass-fed, source verified beef from them smells and tastes wonderful. Additionally, the processing company Stillwater Creek Farms uses has made it especially easy for us by giving us the cuts, portions and thickness on all packaging for our family's specific needs.  Our kids love it, we love it, we don't think we could ever go back to store bought beef again.”

The Dennis Family | Edmond, OK

Our cattle spend their entire lives on open pasture in north central Oklahoma that is managed in a way to maximize the nutritive value of the grass and protect the land. All cuts of our meat go through a USDA certified processor and is then dry aged for 21 days, which is what you find at high end restaurants.

Beef

BREED

  • They are the foundation of our herd.

This breed is known for their excellent health, heat tolerance, docility, great feet and leg structure for improved longevity. Then pairing with how we raise our cattle not only improves meat quality but also the taste and tenderness.

As the animal grows, it develops intra muscular fat, which contributes to the beef's sought after quality and marbling.

  • The only registered purebred Japanese cattle.

All Akaushi are Wagyu, but not all Wagyu are Akaushi. This breed is known worldwide for their distinct marbling that gives Akaushi beef a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich, buttery flavor, due to their high amounts of oleic acid.

The high-fat content in Akaushi cattle leaves less room for muscle fiber and collagen, making the beef notably more tender than other breeds.

BULK ORDER CUTS

  • No customizing and leads to more standard cuts ranging from brisket, roast, strips, filets, ribeyes, and sirloins

  • We will provide a custom cut-sheet for you to select your variety of cuts.  Roughly speaking, half of your meat will be ground and stew, a quarter will be roasts (chuck, shoulder, rump, sirloin tip etc.) and the remaining quarter will be steaks (sirloin, prime rib, T-bone, filet mignon, tenderloin etc.)

  • Great option to split between families and friends all while having our processor guide you into the best way to get the cuts to make everyone happy.

  • If you have the experience of buttering then we also can deliver our cattle to you instead of our processor and will charge you market price without the cost of processing.

PRODUCT

  • We have 10, 20, and 30 pound variety boxes.

Each box is different and will include a variety of cuts of ground beef, cubed stew meat, steaks and roasts.

  • If you are not wanting to order in bulk, we also offering a variety of stand alone cuts that also go through the dry aging process of 21 days.

You pay a deposit and after the final weight price is determined, Stillwater Creek Farms will deduct your deposit and send you a receipt of your purchase.

  • Say goodbye to gas station jerky and experience jerky that has more flavor, without the chemicals, and minimally processed.

Offered in sticks or pieces for what works best for you. You can order online or visit us at the farmers markets we attend to get a taste of high quality on the go protein snacks.

“We have been purchasing and cooking with Rodney’s grass fed beef for a few years now. The quality has always been outstanding, the service beyond reproach, everyone who tries it comments on the superior taste of the meat, noticeable even in lesser cuts that we use for ground beef. It’s beyond practical to always have beef available in our freezer, and the cost/benefit can’t be beat! Highly recommended, we are happy to be long term customers.”

The Mitchell Family

Pork

The pork that you buy in big box stores often come from pigs that live in confined spaces all their lives and only eat feed. While we do it differently. Just like our cattle, our pigs are also primarily grass fed and live in open fields.

  • We raise a specialty breed, the Idaho Pasture Pig that is a cross of old world heritage pigs. A blend of Duroc, Old Bershire, and Kunekune. Most farmers raise Hemshire pigs but because they have been bread so much the breed is no longer the same as they used to be. While the Heritage pigs we raise are still intact with their original breed traits.

Our method gives our pork a more red color due to the better environment and nutrition that then creates a more defined flavor, and fork tender texture profile.

  • We also offer bulk orders with customized cuts, just like we do for our cattle in the forms of a half or full pig bulk order.

  • If you are not wanting to order in bulk, we also offering a variety of stand alone cuts. Our bacon and ham cuts all go through a curing process.

You pay a deposit and after the final weight price is determined, Stillwater Creek Farms will deduct your deposit and send you a receipt of your purchase.

  • Our bacon is so unique and completely different than what you find in the stores so we highly recommend you join our newsletter to stay update when we restock as it does not last long in our inventory.

Chicken

Unlike what you find in store that is labeled “cage free” which just means they are packed into a warehouse instead of a cage that often never go outside.

  • We raise the classic meat bird breed and our chickens are living their best life outside and are rotated on Bermuda grass.

  • Our poultry is a seasonal item and are available about once or twice a year around early spring and fall, depending on the weather.

We recommend signing up for our newsletter or on the product page for release dates.

  • We only offer whole chickens and are not processed down into smaller cuts.

ABOUT OUR PROCESSOR

We use USDA certified, Kiowa Chieftain Meats as our processor for our beef and pork.

What we like about them is that they are American owned and only work with mom and pop farms. Once Rodney delivers the cattle they will personally call you to customize your bulk order.

They also dry age everything for 21 days, which is restaurant quality aging you find at fine dining. Then your order is vacuum sealed and flash frozen to lock in freshness.
